Upgrading to Google Analytics 4 is an easy 3-step Process

  • Step 1: You need to create a new Google Analytics 4 property inside your existing Google Analytics account.
  • Step 2: You will need to provide us with your new GA-4 tracking code
  • Step 3: Pixel Fish will then add the tracking code to your website to connect your Google Analytics 4 account to keep your site tracking.

Please see our detailed steps below. If you prefer, Google also have their own detailed instruction page here.

  • Click the bottom left-hand Admin icon (Cog icon)

  • Click "Get Started"
  • Tick "Enable data collection using existing analytics.js and gtag.js tags."
  • Click "Create Property"

After you're done with the wizard, you'll see "You have successfully connected your properties" at the top of your Google Analytics 4 Property Setup Assistant page.

Click "See your GA Property to visit the new GA-4 Property"

  • Then click on Data Streams
  • Select the correct new GA-4 property and lick the right arrow ">"
  • Look for the "View Tag Instructions" button to click
  • Select the "Install Manually" tab
  • Copy the ENTIRE Google code
